Why Join Us?

We aim to support members and expand understanding of pygmy goats and their husbandry and also to maintain and improve the quality of the breed. We recognise our members keep Pygmy Goats for various reasons - as pets at home or to provide therapy at home, schools, universities and care homes or as a visitor attraction or for educational reasons. Some members breed pygmy goats as a hobby and some members enjoy showing their goats for social reasons or competition.

We have Regional Advisors and Facebook forums for our members to support each other.

As a member you have access to the Members Login area where you can search for goats in the Herd Book and Pet Record by herdname, goat name, Registration Number, year of birth, sex and also by eartag number. You can view pedigree details, progeny, registered breeders and owners.

As a member you can exhibit in pygmy goat shows and enjoy socialising during the show season and at other events organised in the autumn and winter.

As a member you are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting, normally held in April, and you have the opportunity to shape the club as an officer or member of the club. You will receive a copy of the Members' Handbook and you can also view a copy in the Members Login area. You will receive quarterly copies of "Pygmy Goat Club Notes" (while stocks last) and you can view copies of these in the Members Login area.

Club insurance covers members for public liability at pygmy goat shows in the UK, which are listed in Pygmy Goat Notes.
