Calling Pygmy breeders!
My name is Alicia, I am a 4th year student at the RVC on the BVetMed course.
There is currently a lack of information around the risk factors linked to needing a caesarean (C-section) in pygmy goats, though they do seem to be over-represented in needing them!
As part of my degree I am completing a research project to identify some of these risk factors more clearly and look to find ways to decrease the need for c-sections in pygmies.
The survey shouldn't take more than 20mins, it will help if you have breeding records to hand to answer the questions. It doesn't matter if you are unable to answer all the questions but please try to complete the survey as fully as you can so I can get the most useful results possible.
The survey asks about your herd, previous experiences with needing caesareans and management of breeding. I am interested to hear from everyone with breeding experience over the last 3 kidding seasons, including the season just beginning.
